An exhibition commemorating the 55th anniversary of the career of manga artist Mitsuru Adachi, known for works such as "Touch," entitled "Adachi Mitsuru Adachi Exhibition: Celebrating 55 Years of Artistic Career," will be held at Sunshine City Exhibition Hall C (Toshima-ku, Tokyo) from December 19th. A preview was held on December 18th ahead of the opening, and the exhibit was unveiled. The epilogue corner will feature an illustration of Asakura Minami from "Touch" by Rumiko Takahashi, as well as illustrations contributed by a stellar lineup of artists including Gosho Aoyama, Aoyama Gosho, Oze Akira, Kitami Kenichi, Kumeta Koji, Koyama Aiko, and Koyama Yu. The exhibition will run until January 14th, 2026.
The exhibition will display over 40 treasured original drawings, including some that will be shown for the first time, as well as other valuable materials such as rough sketches, making it the largest exhibition to date with a total of over 300 items on display. At the venue, the opening video will be screened on a large screen over 6 meters wide, and there will also be an extra-large wall featuring eight works: "Nine," "Hiatari Ryokou!", "Miyuki," "Touch," "Rough," "H2," "Cross Game," and "MIX." There will also be an exhibition of the manga stories that lead to famous scenes, as well as comic motion video.
The "Mitsuru Adachi Works Gallery" will also be set up, showcasing Adachi's original drawings and sketches, with over 40 original drawings from his masterpieces such as "Slow Step," "Rainbow Pepper," "KATSU!," and "Always Misora" on display. In the "Touch" zone, a "prefab of memories" and a reproduction of Adachi's desk will be on display.
You can also enjoy an audio guide by Noriko Hidaka, the voice actress for Minami Asakura in the anime "Touch." Original merchandise will also be on sale at the venue.
