On November 28th, it was announced that the second season of the TV anime series "Saga of Tanya the Evil," based on the war fantasy web novel by Carlo Zen, titled "Saga of Tanya the Evil II," will be broadcast in 2026. A new teaser visual was also released, depicting Tanya playing a burning piano, hinting at the intense developments of the second season. On the day of the announcement, as a surprise event, a teaser trailer and selected footage from the first season were screened at GiGO Vision Ikebukuro in Tokyo, and "war report newspapers" were guerrilla-distributed.
The teaser trailer begins with a flashback to "Existence X," who blocked Tanya's path in the first season, and shows Tanya struggling to resist it.
Takayuki Yamamoto will be the new director for the second season. Director Yamamoto commented, "I am extremely honored to be involved in the production of Saga of Tanya the Evil. I am currently working hard with the wonderful staff, so please wait a little longer!"
"The Saga of Tanya the Evil" is a war fantasy that depicts the story of an elite Japanese salaryman who is reincarnated into another world and becomes a young girl named Tanya Degurechaff who commands an army. The first season of the TV anime aired from January to March 2017.
