Yoko leaves her husband Katsu (played by Daikichi Sugawara) and leaves their home in Oita, where she diligently looks after him. Meanwhile, Katsuo, unable to tell his mother to come home, asks Tsubaki (Ayami Nakajo) to pretend to be his girlfriend, but Yoko immediately sees through it.
Yoko heard Katsuo's true feelings: "You might think it would be safer to be with a woman, but I want to be okay on my own." She apologized to Katsuo for putting pressure on him, as he had not been able to tell her the truth as his mother.
Yoko leaves Katsuo's house, leaving a note saying "Thank you for all your help," but returns to his house to find her father, Katsu (played by Sugawara Daikichi), there. Yoko is surprised, but Katsuo sympathizes with her, saying, "Your father wants you to come home. He's just not open with you..."
Now alone with Yoko, Katsuo begins, "You know, I might be a bit of a mama's boy." Looking back on the time when Tsubaki "pretended to be my girlfriend," he says, "When I think about how my mother sacrificed herself to raise us, it makes me feel kind of sad," and shows sympathy for Yoko.
"Sacrifice, there's nothing to worry about. I raised you because I loved you," Yoko told Katsuo. "We're parent and child, but we're also adults. I won't take care of you too much anymore. Katsuo will also let me know if he's in trouble," she said, pursing her lips.
On social media, people were excited, saying things like, "He's not a mama's boy, he's a kind son who cares about his parents," "The scene where mother and son honestly expressed their feelings made me cry," "Katsuo might be a mama's boy... but when he expresses his feelings, it's so compassionate, he's such an honest and good guy," "I love how Katsuo doesn't dismiss his mother and puts his desire to change into words," "They're both adults, so they don't take care of their son too much, and the son comes to his parents for advice if he's in trouble, so I thought the distance they kept was good. It was an episode about both parents and children growing up to be apart," and "His mother would be so happy if her son grew up to be like this."
