NHK Special's regular broadcast of the popular series "Unsolved Cases" (General TV, Saturday 10pm) will feature "File 04: Messages from the Fugitives' Families" on November 1st.
There are approximately 380 unsolved murder cases across the country. In this special edition, we will invite victims and bereaved families of heinous crimes in which the perpetrators remain at large to the studio to hear their thoughts directly and call for information.
A young man who lost his best friend in a hit-and-run murder continues to speak out for the arrest of the suspect. A family member has been renting the apartment where his wife's murder took place, where bloodstains remain, for 26 years, fighting against the fading of memory (the suspect's arrest was reported on October 31st). A mother continues to search for the hit-and-run driver who took the life of her only son, a fourth-grader, as the statute of limitations approaches. The memories of the incident are etched once again, and buried information is unearthed.
"Unsolved Cases" is a popular series on NHK Special that began airing in 2011 and unravels historical cases through thorough investigative reporting. It will begin airing as a regular program in October, unearthing new facts and testimonies, while also highlighting connections to the present day and lessons learned. Announcer Mayuko Wakuda will serve as the Caster and main narrator.
