Actors Masaharu Fukuyama and Yo Oizumi made a surprise appearance at the fashion and music event "Rakuten GirlsAward 2025 AUTUMN/WINTER," held at Makuhari Messe (Mihama Ward, Chiba City) on October 18th. A loud explosion sound accompanied the pair's appearance on stage, causing a stir in the audience.
This was Fukuyama's first appearance at the event, and Oizumi's first in about nine years. The two, who play the "invincible buddy" characters in the film "The Last Man -First Love-" (directed by Hirano Shunichi, released on December 24th), walked the runway in their original costumes.
Fukuyama greeted the audience with, "We are 'The Last Mans.'" Perhaps he was a little concerned about the audience's reaction, he added self-deprecatingly, "I don't know if you all know us (laughs)," before greeting them again with, "Hello, it's nice to meet you. I'm Fukuyama Masaharu."
"Last Man -First Love-" is a film adaptation of the drama that aired on TBS's Sunday Theatre in April 2023. The film features a buddy duo consisting of Hiromi Minami, a blind FBI special agent played by Fukuyama, and Shintaro Godo, a detective who will stop at nothing to arrest the criminal, played by Oizumi, as they tackle difficult cases.
This year marks the 28th and 15th anniversary of the Girls Award, which began in May 2010. Models and actors such as Tomomi Itano and Yuchami will walk the runway in trendy fashion, and 10 artists, including Nogizaka46 and XG, will perform live.
