TV personality Koji Imada, freelance announcer Akira Fukuzawa, and former Sakurazaka46 member Yuka Sugai are the hosts of the variety show "Kaiun! Nandemo Kanteidan" (TV Tokyo, Tuesdays 8:54pm). On October 14th, the treasure featured will be "a masterpiece of a flower and bird painting that I received as collateral for a 2 million yen debt!"
The treasure is a folding screen by Ikegami Shuho, a Japanese painter from the client's hometown of Nagano, that the client's father received as collateral for a 2 million yen debt. About 30 years ago, a friend's store to which the client's father had lent money went bankrupt, and the client handed over the treasure to the friend, asking him to wait a little while for repayment, but in the end he left it as it was.
His father, an antique enthusiast who passed away three years ago, had been looking forward to having it appraised on the show someday. The outspoken Don Konishi and Imada both praised it highly, saying, "No fake could draw something like this!", but is it really the real thing...?
