A screening of the animated film "Aikatsu! x PriPara THE MOVIE - The Miracle of Encounter!," a miraculous collaboration between the popular anime and game series "Aikatsu!" and "PriPara," with a stage greeting, was held at Shinjuku Wald 9 (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo) on September 29th. The film celebrates the 10th anniversary of "PriPara" and the Aikatsu! Akari Ozora generation, and featured appearances by Shimoji Murasakino, who voices Aikatsu!'s Akari Ozora, Akaneya Himika, who voices Manaka Lala in "PriPara," and director Okawa Takahiro. It was announced during the film that "Luminous," consisting of Aikatsu!'s Akari Ozora, Hikami Sumire, and Shinjo Hinaki, and "Sorami Smile," consisting of Manaka Lala, Minami Mirei, and Hojo Sophy from "PriPara," will form a new six-person team called "SoLaMi Luminas."
Shimoji said about Sorami Luminous, "They've been a unit for the past 10 years, and they're very cohesive and really cute," while Akaneya excitedly said, "It's strange to see them together in CG. They're singing and dancing together, and I was so impressed! It's amazing!"
Akaneya spoke about her thoughts on the anime, which was born from the "miraculous collaboration," saying, "It's filled with love in every detail, and as a fan, I was moved," and Shimoji said, "I hope it becomes a work that will be loved forever."
The theatrical version will be directed by Takahiro Okawa, with Kimura Ryuichi and Moriwaki Makoto, who have both directed Aikatsu! and PriPara, participating as supervisors. The film will be produced by a team of experienced staff from both films, including chief animation director Tatsuya Akitsu and CG director Yoshihiro Otobe. It will be released on October 10th.
