The first episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Bakebake " starring Akari Takaishi (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8:00 AM and others) was broadcast on September 29th, and the opening title sequence drew the attention of viewers.
" Bakebake" is based on the story of Koizumi Setsu, the daughter of a fallen samurai from Matsue, and her husband Yakumo (Lafcadio Hearn), and depicts the heroine, who loves ghost stories, going about her everyday life with her foreign husband. The script is written by Fujiki Mitsuhiko, who has worked on NHK's "Asagaya Sisters' Relaxed Life" and WOWOW's "Shooting Break Series."
The title sequence is set to the relaxed rhythm of the theme song "Waratari Korondari" by the duo "Humbert Humbert," and is made up of photographs capturing the everyday life of the married couple Toki Matsuno(Takaishi) and Lefkada Haven (Tommy Bastow). The photographs used were taken by photographer Kotori Kawashima, who also worked on the poster visuals, and create a heartwarming opening that conveys the couple's loving relationship.
Comments on social media included, "It was the most soothing opening in the history of Asadora," "The opening video had an unbeatable, overwhelming feeling of happiness," "Can we really see a lovey-dovey couple in an opening that's only been going for six months? What a feast for the eyes," "The gentle music and photos of the couple are great," "The theme song by Humbert Humbert really hits home," "The photo of Kotori in the title sequence is amazing," and "It's beautiful, like a photo book."
