TV Asahi's "Kaji Yarou!!!" ends with explanation of reason

TV Asahi held a briefing on its October programming changes at the station (Minato-ku, Tokyo) on September 10th, explaining the reasons for the end of the variety show "Kaji Yarou!!!," which aired its final episode on the 2nd after a run of about seven and a half years.

The show, which began airing in the late-night slot in April 2018, features comedian Bakarhythm, who is a complete novice at housework, Kazulaser from the comedy duo Maple Chogokin, and former KAT-TUN member Yuichi Nakamaru learning about housework. In April 2021, the time slot was moved up to Tuesdays at 8pm. A new show, "Tuesday's Yoshizumi Kotaro," will begin airing at that time from September 16th.

Regarding the show's end, Shinya Terada, head of the content programming bureau, commented, "We are making a comprehensive decision after looking at recent performance." One of the MCs, Nakamaru, took a break from his activities following a scandal reported in a weekly magazine in August last year, and the show has been broadcast without Nakamaru until the end. However, he added, "The recent rescheduling and Nakamaru's case are fundamentally unrelated. It is simply a comprehensive decision."
