It has been announced that "Killua," the latest work by Tadatoshi Fujimaki, known for the popular manga "Kuroko's Basketball," will be adapted into a TV anime and will be broadcast in 2026. The "youth redo" action comedy began serialization in April 2023 in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha). The story follows the 39-year-old legendary assassin, Juzo Ookami, who is stung by a mysterious bee one day and reverts to the appearance of a 13-year-old. While attending junior high school, he takes on various cases and battles assassins.
The anime will be directed by Hiro Kaburagi, who has worked on the "Kimi ni Todoke" series and "GREAT PRETENDER," and produced by CUE, led by Rui Kuroki, who produced "Kuroko's Basketball."
A teaser visual depicting Juzo with a gun in hand has been released. The teaser PV has also been released on YouTube, depicting Juzo engaging in intense action in an attempt to destroy a mysterious organization. The video also includes a scene in which Juzo is stung by a mysterious bee, loses consciousness, and wakes up to find himself in the form of a middle school student, shocked and stunned.
Fujimaki commented, "Thank you to all the readers who have supported me until now. The serialization is coming to an end, but I'm fortunate that it's being made into an anime! The old man moves! You can hear the sound of ramen being slurped! The home economics club members talk!... I can't put it into words, I'm not sure if it's amazing or not. It will be broadcast next year, and the remaining comics will be out by then, so I'm thinking of doing something personally as well. I'm not sure whether KillAo is amazing or not, but I hope you'll continue to enjoy it little by little, and wait for the anime with a vague sense of anticipation."
