It has been revealed that a new short-term intensive series called "≡-Modulo-" teaming up with Gege Akutami Akutami, known for the popular manga " Jujutsu Kaisen ," and Yuji Iwasaki, who was responsible for the illustrations of "Code Academy," will begin in issue 41 of "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), on sale September 8th. This will be Akutami's first series since " Jujutsu Kaisen" concluded in September 2024, and his first time as the original author. Iwasaki will be in charge of the illustrations.
In issue 41 of Weekly Shonen Jump, "≡-Modulo-" will be featured on the cover and will be featured in 54 pages of color at the beginning of the issue. A preview cut has been released showing a character holding something resembling the Earth.
Akutami made his debut with "Kamiyo Sosa" in issue 2 of "Shonen Jump NEXT!!" (same publisher) in 2014. He serialized "Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School" for a short period in issues 1-4 of "Shonen Jump GIGA" (same publisher) in 2017. He serialized "Jujutsu Kaisen" for about six and a half years, from issue 14 of 2018 (released March 5th of the same year) to issue 44 of 2024 (released September 30th of the same year). The total number of copies of the "Jujutsu Kaisen" comic series has exceeded 100 million.
Iwasaki made his debut as the illustrator of "Unfortunate Tono" (originally written by Masayuki Shigezai) in issue 4 of "Shonen Jump NEXT!!" in 2015. He was also responsible for the illustrations of "Code Academy Iroha," originally written by Nisio Isin and serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from issue 51 of 2022 (released November 21 of the same year) to issue 10 of 2024 (released February 5 of the same year).
