The first season of the TV anime "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" will be screened in theaters.

To commemorate the second anniversary of the broadcast of the TV anime "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End," based on the manga currently being serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" (Shogakukan), it has been announced that a "Special Screening Looking Back at Season 1 - Memories of the Journey" will be held, where all 28 episodes of the first season will be screened in theaters in five chapters. Episodes 1 to 4 have been screened in theaters at events such as the completion announcement, but this will be the first time that episodes 5 and beyond will be screened in theaters. A screening looking back at Season 1 will be held in preparation for the broadcast of Season 2 from January 2026. Screenings will begin on September 27th at nine theaters nationwide.

Chapter 1 "Departure" (episodes 1-6) will be screened on September 27th, Chapter 2 "Aura of the Guillotine" (episodes 7-11) on October 11th, Chapter 3 "Bonds" (episodes 12-17) on October 25th, Chapter 4 "First Class Mage Exam Arc 1" (episodes 18-22) on November 15th, and Chapter 5 "First Class Mage Exam Arc 2" (episodes 23-28) on November 29th. Special stickers will be distributed as a gift to attendees. The sticker design will be different for each screening. The design will be announced at a later date.

Prior to the screening of Chapter 1, "Departure," a screening with stage greetings from the voice actors will be held at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills (Minato Ward, Tokyo) on September 26th. Atsumi Tanezaki , who plays Frieren , Kana Ichinose , who plays Fern , and Chiaki Kobayashi , who plays Stark , will be appearing on stage.

" Frieren: Beyond Journey's End," a manga written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe Abe, began serialization in Weekly Shonen Sunday in April 2020. Frieren, a magician in the hero's party who defeated the Demon King, is an elf and long-lived. After experiencing the death of a companion, she embarks on a journey to "discover humanity." The series has been selected for the Manga Taisho 2021, the Newcomer Award at the 25th Osamu Tezuka Cultural Prize, the 69th Shogakukan Manga Award (2023), and the 48th Kodansha Manga Award in the Boys' category. The manga has sold over 30 million copies worldwide. The first season of the anime aired on Nippon Television's Friday Anime Night slot from September 2023 to March 2024. The second season will air on Nippon Television from January 2026.
