It was revealed on August 12 that the 19th week of the NHK Asadora drama "Anpan " (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8:00 AM and others), starring Mio Imada, titled "Flower of Courage" (August 4-8), recorded an average weekly viewership rating (households) of 15.5% (calculated from Video Research, Kanto region).
" Anpan" is based on the married couple Takashi Yanase(1919-2013), the manga artist and picture book author who created "Anpanman," and his wife, Nobu (1918-1993). It is a "story of love and courage" that will fill you with the joy of living, depicting how these two, who were once nobodys, overcame all sorts of rough seas to become "Anpanman," the embodiment of "unreversible justice."
In the 19th week, Takashi (Takumi Kitamura), who works in the advertising department of Samsung Department Store, is encouraged by Nobu (Imada) to enter a manga contest and is selected as a winner. Seeing Nobu's delighted smile, Takashi also feels happy.
Two months later, Ranko (Yuumi Kawai) and Meiko (Nanoka Hara) move to Tokyo. Meiko starts working at a cafe and reunites with Kentaro (Fumiya Takahashi). She finally confesses her feelings to him and the two get married.
One day, five years later, Taka happens to meet Takuya Ise(played by Motoki Omori). Encouraged by his conversation with Takuya, Taka tells Nobu that night that he intends to focus solely on manga.
After a chance encounter with the genius manga artist Teshima Osamu (Gordon Maeda), Takashi finally asks to resign from his job. His mother Tomiko (Nanako Matsushima) is strongly opposed, but he is determined...
