Comedian Beat Kiyoshi will appear on the BS12 TwellV program "Tsurube-chan and Sawako-chan: The Great Senior of the Showa Era and the Strange Two," which will be broadcast from 9:00 pm on July 28. He will talk about the inside story of the formation of the comedy duo "Two Beat" with Beat Takeshi, and his relationship with Takeshi, who he has been his partner for 53 years.
The trailer shows Kiyoshi saying, "I tried to woo (Takeshi) for about three months," and also shows the words "Grand! The Legend of Beat Takeshi."
Each episode of the show features guests from the Showa era, including Tsurube, who has 52 years of show business experience, and Agawa, who has 40 years of experience, who are called "Tsurube-chan" and "Sawako-chan."
Kiyoshi, now 75, is from Yamagata Prefecture and grew up in a coal mining family. He will reveal the incredible story of how his father, who worked as a gunpowder technician, brought dynamite home and accidentally detonated it, as well as what led him to move to Tokyo and enter the entertainment industry.
He also talks about his career in the entertainment industry, which he began as soon as he entered a training school with the aim of becoming an actor, his appearances in pink films, his work at Asakusa Rockza, and his mentor, Fukami Senzaburo.
