The first episode of the new Super Sentai series "No.1 Sentai Gozyuger " (TV Asahi, 9:30 am) was broadcast on February 16th, and Haruhi Iuchi , who played Daiya Norimichi/Bunred in the previous series " Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger " that was broadcast until last week, made a surprise appearance. However, his role attracted a lot of attention.
" No.1 Sentai Gozyuger" is a 50th anniversary work of the Super Sentai series that began in 1975, and features the appearance of past Super Sentai heroes. Five heroes with animal and dinosaur motifs compete for the "Sentai Ring," a ring that is said to grant any wish, and battle the "Number One Monster" who has topped all fields, rivals with the power of past Reds, and even Gojugers themselves.
Iuchi played the character Natsume Tsutsumi/Kuwagata Oger, not Norimichi Daiya/Bunred, which he played in "Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger." The first episode ended with a shocking scene in which Kuwagata Oger, played by Iuchi, slashes at Goju Wolf, played by Fuyuno Shino.
Iuchi, who was also shocked, shared his thoughts, saying, "I heard why it was Kuwagata Oger and not Bunred, and before I read the script, I understood why it was meant to be shown like this! At the same time, I thought to myself once again, 'I have to work hard!'"

--How did you feel when you received an offer to appear in "No.1 Sentai Gozyuger"?
I was really surprised. When I first heard that I would be appearing in the next Super Sentai, I thought, "Will I appear as Daiya?", but I was told that I would not be playing Bunred, but a completely different role... I was excited because I didn't know what kind of role I would be playing.
--How did you feel when you later heard that you would become a Stag Beetle Oger?
It was a shock! But I heard why they chose Kuwagata Ooja instead of Bunred, and when I read the script, I understood that it was meant to be that way, and at the same time, I thought to myself, "I have to work hard!"
Kuwagata Ooja is also really cool and very popular with children, so I didn't want people to think that I was "different" because I was playing him. Tsutsumi seems plain at first glance, but I worked hard on the transformation scene so that he would look cool when he made up his mind and took off his glasses!
--How did it feel trying out the transformation pose?
It's not like I showed it to Fuyuno Shino-kun (lol), but I was the first to do the transformation scene during filming. I was shown the transformation items beforehand, but I wasn't told at all how the transformation would work. When I actually went to the set and tried it out, there were a lot more moves than in "Boonboomger," so I had to use my brain to the fullest and do my best! There were set movements, but the part leading up to those was where I had to create the movements while thinking about what I wanted to do... so it was difficult. But the transformation, with its many actions, was a lot of fun.
