The eighth episode of the TV drama series "The Travel Nurse" (TV Asahi), starring actor Masaki Okada, was broadcast as an extended special on December 12th, and it was revealed that the average viewership (Kanto region, Video Research survey, same below) was 11.1% for households and 6.5% for individuals. The drama will have its final episode on the 19th.
This work is a sequel to the drama of the same name that aired in October 2022. It depicts once again the quirky duo of Ayumu Nasuda (Okada), an excellent nurse with a nursing qualification "nurse practitioner" who can perform certain medical procedures, and super nurse Shizuka Kuki (Nakai Kiichi), as they reform the medical field by putting patients first.
In episode 8, Megumi Yagi (Mayumi Wakamura), a former nurse who worked at Nishitokyo General Hospital until a year and a half ago, comes to the hospital. She asks the hospital director, Yakushimaru (Ikusaburo Yamazaki), to perform surgery for pancreatic cancer. A year and a half ago, a patient who had undergone surgery by Yakushimaru died suddenly from post-operative complications. At that time, Megumi's fatal mistake was discovered, and she quit her job as if she was running away.
The story unfolds as to why Megumi suddenly returned to the hospital and chose Yakushimaru as her surgeon.
