The second teaser PV for the TV anime "PSYREN," based on the supernatural battle action manga by Toshiaki Iwashiro serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), has been released on YouTube, showcasing footage from the anime. The video depicts the beginning of the story, in which the protagonist, Ageha Yashina, accesses the secret society Siren, rumored to be the mastermind behind the sudden disappearance of her childhood friend, Sakurako Amamiya. In the latter half of the video, a glimpse of a battle scene between Ageha and Amamiya, who are transported to the mysterious "Siren World," can be seen.
"PSYREN" was serialized from 2008 to 2010 and has maintained its strong popularity even 16 years after its completion, having been nominated three times for the "Manga We Want to See Animated" voting project at "AnimeJapan". The story follows Ageha Yoshiro, a first-year high school student, who gains access to Siren, a secret society rumored to be behind a series of mysterious disappearances occurring nationwide, and begins a life-or-death game...
Katsumi Ono, known for the "Symphogear" series, will direct the anime, which will be produced by Satelight, the studio behind the "Aquarion" and "Macross" series. Rikuya Yasuda will voice the protagonist, Ageha Yashina, and Mayuko Kazama. The anime will air on TOKYO MX, BS11, and other channels starting in October. The anime will depict the story up to its conclusion.
