To commemorate the release of the Blu-ray Disc (BD) box set "Pierrot Magical Girl Series Anniversary Blu-ray BOX," a special program will be broadcast and streamed. Yu Mizushima, who appeared in "Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel Angel Creamy Mami," "Magical Fairy Persia," "Magical Star Magical Emi," and "Magical Idol Pastel Yumi," will serve as the MC, and Mei Tachibana and Nao Kojika, who appear in the latest series installment "Magical Sisters Lulu Lily," will appear as guests. Sound director Fusanobu Fujiyama (now Fusanobu Fujiyama) will also send a message, revealing behind-the-scenes stories from that time.
The Pierrot Magical Girl series began with "Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel Mami" airing from 1983 to 1984, followed by "Magical Fairy Persia" from 1984 to 1985, "Magical Star Magical Emi" from 1985 to 1986, "Magical Idol Pastel Yumi" from 1986, and "Magical Stage Fancy Lala" from 1998. The first series, "Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel Angel Creamy Mami," is particularly popular for its characters designed by Akemi Takada, and continues to be loved, with toys and merchandise being released even in the Reiwa era.
The latest installment, "Magical Sisters Lulu Lily," is currently airing on TOKYO MX, ABC TV, TV Aichi, and other channels. This marks the first new TV anime in the Pierrot Magical Girl series to air in approximately 28 years, since the fifth installment, "Magical Stage Fancy Lala," which aired in 1998.
