◇Comment from Tomokazu Seki Seki
--What are your impressions of the characters?
Rokuhira Kunishige is a legendary swordsmith, but he is also a warm and loving father. I tried to portray both of these aspects of his character naturally. I hope that his everyday humorous side comes across as bright and cheerful, and that when he speaks of his beliefs as a swordsmith, viewers will feel the weight of each line he speaks.
--How did you feel when you got the role?
I was so happy when I was cast as Kunishige Rokuhira. "Kagurabachi" is a work loved by many fans, and Kunishige is an important character in the story. I'm working hard to convey the passion of the original work and the feelings of the characters in a way that is unique to anime.
--What was your first impression of the work?
When I first read the original work, my impression was, "This is an incredibly passionate story!" Besides the powerful action, the emotions of resolve, loss, and revenge are also vividly portrayed, and I was immediately drawn in. With its unique worldview, it's a story that makes you want to read on and on.
--What is the greatest appeal of Rokuhira Kunishige?
I think Kunishige's appeal lies in his strength to stick to his beliefs and his deep affection. I myself am the type to wholeheartedly dedicate myself to things I love, so I might be able to relate to him to some extent.
--If you had to describe the appeal of "Kagurabachi" in one word, what would it be?
A spirit passed down through generations.
