It has been announced that Sakina Ayakaze, former top star of the Takarazuka Revue's Snow Troupe, and Aya Yumishiro, former top musumeyaku (leading female role) of the Snow Troupe, will appear in a location-based special of "Takarazuka Premiere" which will be broadcast on WOWOW Live from 3 PM on June 27th.
Ayakaze joined the Takarazuka Revue in 2007 as a member of the 93rd class and became the top star of the Snow Troupe in 2021. She retired from the Takarazuka Revue in 2024. She has expanded her range of activities, including playing the lead role of Deloris Van Cartier in the musical "Sister Act." Yumishiro joined the Takarazuka Revue in 2014 as a member of the 103rd class and became the top musumeyaku (leading female role) of the Snow Troupe in 2022. She retired from the Takarazuka Revue in February of this year. This will be the first time the two have appeared together on television since their retirement.
In this location-based special, Ayakaze and Yumishiro will participate in a "cross-styling project" at the H&M Shibuya store, which boasts one of the largest selections of H&M products in Japan, where they will choose clothes that they think would suit each other. They will showcase their outfits based on the theme of "summer travel." The program will also feature a dialogue interview where they will share memories from their time as a top comedy duo and discuss valuable topics that they can only talk about now.
Additionally, "Invitation to Takarazuka" airing at 4pm on the 27th will broadcast "Boiled Doyle on the Toil Trail" (Snow Troupe 2024), featuring Ayakaze and Yumishiro, with audio commentary.
Meanwhile, the monthly narrator for "Takarazuka Premiere" in June will be Kiho Maaya, former top musumeyaku (leading female role) of the Snow Troupe. Maaya joined the Takarazuka Revue in 2012 and served as the top musumeyaku of the Snow Troupe from July 2017 to April 2021. Since leaving the company, she has appeared in famous musicals such as "Jekyll & Hyde," "Phantom," "Mozart!", and "Love Never Dies."
