75-year-old singer Miki Hirayama will appear on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi) on December 13th at 1pm. She will perform her hit song "Manatsu no Jiken" (Manatsu no Jiken) with the husky voice that made her popular 53 years ago.
Hirayama-san is attracting attention from the younger generation due to the Showa era pop music boom. She was born in Tokyo, but moved to Kyoto when she got married. She later got divorced, but continues to live in her beloved Kyoto.
From the time of his debut, he was often seen as a delinquent. His father was a police officer who had been in charge of guarding Empress Michiko. He recalls that as a child, he rebelled against the idea that "the child of a police officer and a school principal will become a delinquent," and that he was a very serious child. His mother had a bright and unique personality, and when his father was away at work, she would sometimes just make sweets for dinner for the children.
