It has been announced that "Donkey Kong Country", a new area at "Super Nintendo World" at Universal Studios Japan (USJ) (Konohana Ward, Osaka City) themed around Nintendo characters and their worldview, will have its grand opening on December 11, 2024. This is the world's first area themed around the popular game "Donkey Kong", and the interior of the "Golden Shrine", the symbol of the area, as well as the coaster car and ride platform of the new ride attraction "Donkey Kong's Crazy Trolley" were unveiled. With the addition of the new area, the land area of "Super Nintendo World" will be expanded by about 1.7 times.
The "Golden Shrine" is a shining structure located at the deepest part of the jungle that has actually appeared as a stage in the game, and allows visitors to experience the worldview of "Donkey Kong".
The new attraction, Donkey Kong's Crazy Trolley, was created in collaboration with Nintendo's creative team, including Nintendo Representative Director and Fellow Shigeru Miyamoto. While racing through the jungle on the Crazy Trolley, you can experience helping Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong on their adventure to protect the Golden Bananas from the Tiki Tribe.
In advance of the opening of the new area, new merchandise will go on sale from November 13th. The lineup will include Donkey Kong's trademark red tie, ticket holders with the familiar barrel design from the game, and colorful straps that match the tropical image of the area.
To commemorate the expansion of the Super Nintendo World area, the Universal Express Pass - Donkey Kong Special -, a ticket set that includes tickets for the attractions, will go on sale from noon on November 13th.
