The film "Masquerade Hotel" (directed by Suzuki Masayuki, 2019), starring Takuya Kimura, will be broadcast on Fuji TV's "Saturday Premium" (Saturdays at 9:00 PM) on December 20th. The film is based on the first novel in Higashino Keigo's "Masquerade" series (Shueisha Bunko). Kimura plays the role of Nitta Kosuke, an elite detective who disguises himself as a hotel employee and goes undercover to solve a series of murders. Masami Nagasawa Masami plays Yamagishi Naomi, an excellent hotel employee who becomes Nitta's mentor.
To commemorate the release of the film "Kyoujo Reunion," starring Kimura, on Netflix from January 1st next year, and the release of the sequel, "Kyoujo Requiem," in theaters from February 20th, "Saturday Premium" will be broadcasting the "Masquerade" series for two consecutive weeks.
Three serial murders occur in Tokyo. A mysterious string of numbers is left at each crime scene, leading to an investigation into the murders as a series of pre-planned murders. Nitta Kosuke (Kimura), an elite detective from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's First Investigative Division, deciphers the numbers and discovers that the fourth murder is at Hotel Cortesia Tokyo. However, no clues to the perpetrator remain. The police decide to conduct an undercover investigation at Cortesia Tokyo, with Nitta working as a front desk clerk at the hotel to track down the culprit.
Yamagishi Naomi (Nagasawa), an excellent front desk clerk at Cortesia Tokyo, is assigned to train Nitta. Facing a steady stream of unknown guests, Nitta, as a detective, makes arresting the culprit his number one priority and tries to remove the masks from the guests. Meanwhile, as a hotelier, Naomi, whose policy is to prioritize guest safety, tries to protect the masks of the guests. Nitta and Naomi clash on numerous occasions due to their differing positions, but as they continue their undercover investigation, they come to understand each other's professional values, and a strange bond of trust begins to grow between them. Meanwhile, the case takes a sudden turn. The police and the hotel are cornered. Who is the true identity of the masked culprit?
The hotel staff are played by Ren Ishikawa, Higashinesaku Toshihide, Tsurumi Shingo, and Ishibashi Ryo, while the hotel guests of unknown origin are played by Hamada Gaku, Maeda Atsuko, Atsuko Maeda, Takashima Masahiro, Nanao, Ukaji Tsuyoshi, Manami Hashimoto, Taguchi Hiromasa, Katsuji Ryo, Namase Katsuhisa, and Takako Matsu.
