The first episode of the drama series "Something in Winter, Something in Spring" (Nippon TV, Wednesdays at 10pm), starring actress Hana Sugisaki Hana, was broadcast on January 14th, and the average viewership rating (according to Video Research, Kanto region, same below) was 3.8% for households and 1.9% for individuals.
The drama is an original love story directed by Imaizumi Rikiya, known for films such as "Love is Hard" (2019) and "Undercurrent" (2023). Novelist Fumina looks back on her past relationships in order to seriously confront her current partner.
Sugisaki will play Tsuchida Fumina, a novelist who, influenced by her various past romantic experiences, has avoided "falling in love properly" and "facing people properly," while Ryo Narita will play Fumina's boyfriend, Saeki Yukio.
In the first episode, novelist Tsuchida Fumina (Sugisaki) frequently uses a nearby laundromat. One winter night, Fumina meets Saeki Yukio (Narita), a hairdresser who happens to be using the laundromat. The two begin a casual conversation after hearing Michelle Gun Elephant leaking from Fumina's earphones.
