It has been announced that Kaito Ishikawa will be appearing as a voice actor in the second season of the TV anime " The Mission: Yozakura Family ," based on the manga by Hitsuji Gondaira that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha). Ishikawa will play Sosuke Michibata, a classmate of the main character Taiyo Asano and a self-proclaimed loser spy with a very low profile. A teaser trailer for the second season, featuring Sosuke Michibata, has also been released.
Ishikawa commented, "Kusasuke is a lot of fun to play, and I think he's a fun character who throws the story into disarray. As a spy...no, as a person...Kusasuke is quite loyal to his instincts, and I hope you enjoy the role. I hope to present everyone with a spy who is different from the Yozakura family."
"The Mission: Yozakura Family" is a spy family comedy that follows the story of an extremely shy high school student, Taiyo Asano, who marries his childhood friend, Mutsumi Yozakura, the daughter of a powerful spy family, and works as a member of the spy family. The original work was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from August 2019 to January 2025. The total number of copies of the comics published is over 3.6 million. The first season of the TV anime aired from April to October 2024. The second season will air from April 2026 in the Sunday 5pm anime time slot on MBS and TBS.
