It has been announced that Ryo Ariyama's light novel "The Romeria War Chronicles: Humanity Still Seems in Danger After Defeating the Demon King, So They Formed an Army," which originated from the novel submission website "Shosetsuka ni Naro a Novelist," will be adapted into a TV anime series and will air in 2026.
The story is a "post-war" war tale in which the protagonist, Romelia, whose engagement to the prince is broken off immediately after defeating the Demon King, creates a new world. The comic book adaptation has also gained popularity, with the total number of copies sold in the series exceeding 500,000. A spectacular teaser visual has also been released, showing Romelia, Al, and Ray overlooking the Giriye Valley.
The original author, Ariyama, commented, "The Romeria War Chronicles is being made into a TV anime! Thank you! I can't believe my book is being made into an anime. To give you an idea of how unbelievable it is, I even wonder if this is all a dream or delusion that I, a mediocre person, am having. But I don't care if it's a dream or delusion. Please don't wake me up. Anyway, all jokes aside, the anime version of The Romeria War Chronicles was made by talented staff members, and I think it turned out great. I hope everyone will watch it!"
Ueto Ryo, who is working on the comic adaptation, is delighted, saying, "I never thought I'd have an experience like this! I still can't help but wonder if it was just a dream after all... Thank you so much!!"
Kodama, the original character designer, commented, "Congratulations on the anime adaptation! I can't wait to see how the everyday, serious, and action scenes will be portrayed in the anime. Please look forward to Romelia and the others' exploits!"
