It has been announced that Ate-kichi's light novel "The Strongest Occupation Is Not a Hero or a Sage, But an Appraiser (Tentative Title) Apparently?" (Alphapolis) will be adapted into a TV anime and will begin airing in April 2026. Hoshino Makoto will serve as director and Studio Flood will produce. Kanemoto Hisako will play the protagonist, Manabe Hibiki, along with Kenta Miyake as Claude, LaMalfa Michelle Tateyama as Lillian, and Shuto Shina as Vene.
The story follows Hibiki Manabe, a high school student who is suddenly transported to the grasslands of another world one day. He uses the skills of his non-combat job, Appraiser (tentative title), to overcome obstacles. The series has sold over 850,000 copies in total. A striking visual of Hibiki (Hibiki Manabe) standing on the grasslands of another world, taking his first step towards adventure, and a promotional video announcing the anime adaptation have also been released.
Kanemoto commented, "Hibiki, who has landed alone in an unknown world, meets all sorts of people who live in this world at her own pace and in a lively manner! I also took on many challenges in acting! Please look forward to seeing what kind of anime it will be!"
Director Hoshino said, "To all fans of Appraiser (Kari), we've kept you waiting! To all who are discovering Appraiser (Kari), we've kept you waiting! 'It seems the strongest profession isn't a hero or a sage, but an appraiser (Kari), right?' is being made into an anime! Just as novels have their own merits and manga have their own merits, we are aiming to pursue the unique merits of anime in this production! We hope everyone in both camps looks forward to it!"
Atekichi, the original author, commented, "I have been blessed with this wonderful opportunity thanks to the support of all the readers and the efforts of everyone involved in the anime production. I am truly grateful. I hope that both those who are familiar with the original work and those who are watching for the first time will enjoy the adventures of Hibiki and the others, which are unique to the anime and different from the novel and comic. The attention to detail that professionals show is incredible. Being involved in the anime production has given me new learning experiences and made me realize the joy of creation. I hope I can convey this feeling to everyone through the anime."
