Businessman Takafumi Horie, also known as Horiemon, will appear on Fuji TV's special program "Honne Kissa Nagatacho," which will be broadcast from 7:00 pm to 9:54 pm on December 23rd. This will be Horie's first appearance on the station's program in about 20 years.
Hosted by Koji Kato, this is a debate show where politicians honestly discuss how Japan can be made a better place. Appearing on the show are former LDP Foreign Minister Taro Kono, Osaka Governor Hirofumi Yoshimura of the Japan Restoration Party, and House of Councillors Party President Sohei Kamiya, who will discuss topics such as "What do we think about the phenomenal popularity of Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi?", "What can we do to improve local assemblies that are plagued by scandals?", "What are our honest opinions about the unbelievable, pointless rules of the Diet?", and "How can we solve the problem of foreigners?"
At the beginning of the program, MC Kato sensed a wait-and-see atmosphere between the two parties and urged them, "Everyone, let's leave the pretense aside and get honest from here on out!", which heated up the discussion. Horie took a sharp look at the politicians, and on the topic of "the issue of foreigners," he got into a "big battle" with Japanese Conservative Party lawmaker Haruo Kitamura.
Former Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba will also appear as a special guest. Former NHK announcer Aika Kanda will interview him at a bar in Akabane, Tokyo. He will discuss his true feelings when facing numerous challenges, including tariff negotiations with US President Trump and the rice issue, as well as his thoughts when he decided to step down as prime minister.
The sub-MC will be Ken Ishida, editor-in-chief of the news commentary site "The HEADLINE" and commentator, and the show will be hosted by announcer Toshihiro Ito.
