It has been announced that a 4K digitally remastered version of the animated film "MEMORIES," produced and directed by Katsuhiro Otomo, known for the manga "AKIRA," will be shown again for a limited two-week period starting November 28th. The screening will commemorate the 30th anniversary of the film's release, and an original illustration by Otomo has also been released.
Otomo's concept of "wanting to work with young talent" led to the creation of this three-part anthology animated film with a group of cutting-edge creators in their early 30s at the time of its release in 1995.
The triple feature was "Her Memories," directed by Koji Morimoto and written by Satoshi Kon, "The Stinkiest Weapon," directed by Tensai Okamura, and "Cannon Town," directed by Otomo. Other attendees included Toshiyuki Inoue, Yoko Kanno, and Sunao Katabuchi.
