Original author Ezogingitsune commented, "Congratulations on the anime adaptation of 'I told you to leave this to me and go ahead, and 10 years later it has become a legend.' I started posting 'Kokore' online in 2018. Since then, the novel was published, it was made into a comic, and now it's finally been made into an anime. I owe it all to the many people who have been involved in the work and to all the readers who have supported me. Thank you. I can't wait to see Luck and the others moving and talking. I hope all the readers will look forward to it as well."
The story follows Luck, an S-rank mage from the hero's party, who defeats the Demon King and returns to his original world. Ten years later, Luck has become a legendary hero who sacrificed himself to save the world. However, due to the effects of the battle, Luck's appearance has become younger, and he now hides his true identity and lives as an F-rank adventurer named Locke with his old and new companions. The light novel is published by SB Creative, and the comic adaptation has also become popular. The series has sold over 4.25 million copies in total.
