It has been announced that the third and final season of the fourth season of the TV anime series "Dr. Stone," based on the manga serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), "Dr. Stone Science Future," will air in 2026. The final season will be split into three seasons, with the third season being the final chapter of the anime. The announcement was made after the 24th episode, "WHOLE NEW WORLD," which was the final episode of the second season, aired on September 25th. A visual commemorating the announcement of the third season's broadcast has also been released.
In the third season, Zeno finally joins the Science Kingdom, and Senku and his friends stand at the starting line for space. They finally head to the moon to confront Whyman, with the revival of all humanity at stake.
"Dr. Stone" is written by Inagaki Riichiro (Eyeshield 21) and illustrated by Boichi (San-Ken Rock and ORIGIN). It was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from March 2017 to March 2022. Thousands of years have passed since all of humanity was instantly turned to stone by a mysterious phenomenon. Senku Ishigami, a boy with a superhuman intellect and a natural scientist, awakens and, in a desperate situation, resolves to search for his allies and take back the world. Senku uses science to try to build a civilization from scratch. The comics have sold over 18 million copies in total.
The first season of the TV anime aired from July to December 2019, the second from January to March 2021, the TV special "Dr. Stone Ryusui" in July 2022, and the first cour of the third season aired from April to June 2023, and the second cour from October to December of the same year. The final season is split into three cours, with the first cour airing from January to March. The second cour began airing in July and aired its final episode on September 25th.
