Actor Jun Shison will appear on the talk show "Oshare Clip" (Nippon TV, Sunday 10pm) broadcast on May 25th. Having reached the milestone of turning 30, Jun Shison looks back on his turbulent life from his childhood to the present, interspersed with an interview with his mother.
"We've fought together through the rough seas of the entertainment industry," says his mother, who has raised his three siblings on her own since divorcing when Shison was a child. Shison entered the entertainment industry at the age of 15 and made his acting debut in a musical, and his mother was thrilled. However, his older siblings sometimes showed a cold reaction to Shison. Shison was troubled by his relationship with his family, and at the age of 17, he decided to run away from home, saying "no one supports me." His mother felt his son's determination to pursue a career in entertainment, even if it meant leaving his family behind.
Shison starred in many popular works and established himself as a popular actor, but four years ago he suffered from acute myocarditis, a serious heart disease, and was forced to stay in the intensive care unit (ICU) for a time. Struck by the sudden illness, Shison tearfully reveals the regret he felt towards his family and the thoughts he wrote in the "will" he sent every day, saying, "I was happy to be born as my mother's child."
The preview for the program shows Shison saying, "I consult my mother about everything," and "There's nothing I hide from her," as well as a tearful him saying, "I realized that being alive is such a happy thing, and the things we take for granted aren't so obvious," and "I was happy to be born as my mother's child."
