It has been revealed that Natsuki Deguchi and Kaito Sakurai, who both starred in Ao Haru Ride , also based on an original work by Io Sakisaka and broadcast on the same station, will appear in the drama series W- Getsuku "Strobe Natsuki Deguchi Season 2" (WOWOW, Fridays at 11pm), which will begin airing on January 9th. They will be playing the same roles as in Ao Haru Ride Kaito Sakurai .
"Strobe Edge" is based on the manga of the same name by Sakisaka, who is also known for " Ao Haru Ride " and "I Want to Eat Your Pancreas," and is a love story starring Fukumoto Riko and Kyohei Takahashi of the popular group " Naniwa Danshi ." High school student Kinoshita Ninako (Fukumoto) is attracted to her classmate Ichinose Ren ( Kyohei Takahashi)'s hidden kindness and confesses her feelings to him, only to be rejected by him, who says he has a girlfriend... Season 1 began airing last October, and Season 2, featuring Sugimoto Mao (Koki Yamashita), a key figure and junior of Ren and Ando Takumi (Sakura Kiryu), will begin airing on Getsuku.
"Ao Haru Ride," co-starring Deguchi and Sakurai, was broadcast in 2023 and gained popularity. This time, it will be a special collaboration that transcends the boundaries of the story, with Deguchi appearing as Ao Haru Ride Ride's Yoshioka Futaba and Sakurai as Tanaka Kou. Deguchi commented, "I was happy to be able to participate as Futaba and return." Sakurai also said, "I was worried about whether I would be able to play Kou (after three years), but when I got to the set, the staff all said, 'Futaba and Kou are back,' so I can deliver it to everyone again with confidence."
Io Sakisaka, the original author and creator of both works, also commented, "I can't wait to see Futaba and Kou in the same space as everyone from Strobe!!"
