It was revealed on May 19th that actor Yui Narumi will be appearing in the NHK Asadora drama series "Anpan " (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8am and others), starring Mio Imada She will play Oda Kotoko, who joins the Kochi Shimpo newspaper as the first female reporter after the war, along with Imada Ninobu. This will be Narumi's second Asadora appearance in six years, following "Natsuzora" in the first half of 2019.
Narumi plays Kotoko Oda, who joined the Kochi Shimpo newspaper along with Nobu as its first female reporter after the war. She is usually a modest woman, but when she drinks, she becomes a bit tongued.
Narumi recalls, "I think my connection with the production began the day I wrote 'I want to be someone like Anpanman' in the free-form section of my audition form."
"The woman I play, Oda Kotoko, will work alongside Nobu as the first female reporter at the Kochi Shimpo newspaper after the war. At first glance she appears to be a demure woman, but she is actually a very unique woman with two sides to her personality, and I am approaching the role with the desire to not miss a single move she makes. I will do my best to bring you the freedom and vitality of the days at the Kochi Shimpo newspaper after the war! I can't wait to meet everyone as Kotoko!"
Chief Producer Kurasaki Ken, who is in charge of production, explained the reasons for casting her, saying, "On Yui Narumi's audition sheet for the heroine role, she wrote, 'I want to become someone like Anpanman,' and this was before the project for ' Anpan' was announced, so I was surprised when I first met her and thought, 'This is fate!' Even at the final audition, she tearfully told me, 'I want to change my life,' and that has stayed in my heart ever since. I wanted to work with her somewhere, so I entrusted her with the role of Kotoko, who joined the company at the same time as Nobu."
"Anpan" is based on the married couple Takashi Yanase(1919-2013) and Nobu (1918-1993), the manga artist and picture book writer who created "Anpanman." It is a "story of love and courage" that will make you feel the joy of living, depicting how these two, who were once nobody, overcame all sorts of rough seas to become "Anpanman," the embodiment of "unreversible justice."
