It has been announced that Shiki's popular light novel "Observation Records of My Self-Proclaimed Villainous Fiancee" will be adapted into an anime and broadcast in 2026. Shunichi Yamamoto will be the director, Miki Matsumoto will be the character designer, and Akiko Inoue Shosetsuka ni Naro be in charge of series composition and scriptwriting. It will be produced by Ashi Productions.
The story is a romantic comedy about the relationship between Bertia, a self-proclaimed villain who is reincarnated into the world of a girls' game, and the overly perfect crown prince, Cecil. Bertia has decided that her own downfall is her fate and rushes around to support the romance between Cecil and the heroine, but her carefree behavior gradually brings about a change in the heart of Cecil, who lives a boring life... This is the story. Bertia's rampage and struggles are depicted from the perspective of Crown Prince Cecil. A light novel has been published by Alphapolis, and the comic adaptation has also become popular. The series has sold over 2.45 million copies in total.
