The lineup for Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi, Monday to Friday 1pm), which will air from April 21st to 25th, has been announced. On the 21st, magician Mr. Maric and magician Maggy Shiro will appear, on the 22nd actor Hiroyuki Hirayama, on the 23rd actor Yamaguchi Yuichiro, on the 24th actor Seiyo Uchino, and on the 25th TERU, vocalist of rock band "GLAY".
Maric and Maggie have been best friends for 50 years. Maric is a magician who sells magic items, and Maggie started out in a strip club, so they both had a lot in common. They will perform a magic trick together.
This is Hirayama's first appearance. He is originally from Gifu Prefecture. He moved to Tokyo at the age of 20 and passed the first audition he took at the age of 23. After his father passed away, his mother, who he had called over to Gifu, was diagnosed with a cerebral aneurysm and underwent surgery. He said he wants to be a good son to his parents.
Yamaguchi is a graduate of the Shiki Theatre Company. He will be 70 next year, but he says that rehearsals and performances are good exercise for him. After his parents separated, he was raised by his mother, and apparently he has had "five fathers." It was his fourth father who encouraged him to pursue singing.
Uchino-san won the 48th Japan Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in March this year for his role in the movie "Hakkenden." He was asked by fellow actor Mitsuko Kusabue to escort her to the awards ceremony. They have been friends both in public and private since they co-starred on stage.
GLAY is celebrating its 30th anniversary since its debut. All four members, including vocalist TERU, grew up in Hakodate, Hokkaido. Seven years ago, they built a recording studio near their parents' home in Hakodate. Since then, they have been returning home more often and spending more time with their parents.
