It has been revealed that Yokota Ren Meguro will play Lu Shaotan, a trusted friend of the protagonist Sakamoto Taro, played by Meguro, and Tozuka Junki will play Masumi Junki Tozuka in the live-action film "SAKAMOTO DAYS" (directed by Fukuda Yuichi), starring Meguro Ren of the popular group "Snow Man."
"SAKAMOTO DAYS" is an action manga that Suzuki has been serializing in "Weekly Shonen Jump" since November 2020. The story follows Sakamoto Taro, a former legendary assassin who runs a shop after retiring, as he fights against approaching assassins with his friends to protect the peaceful daily life he lives with his beloved family. The comics have become a huge hit, with a total circulation of over 15 million copies worldwide. A TV anime adaptation was also broadcast in 2025.
Yokota's character, Lou, is a Tai Chi practitioner who works energetically at Sakamoto Shoten, a store run by Sakamoto. "I'm so happy to be a part of Fukuda's team in this production! I think it's a fun, heartwarming, and full of cool action. I look forward to seeing you!" she commented. "This was my first action role, so I faced many challenges every time I practiced, but thanks to the many people who helped me, I was able to complete filming as Lu Shao Tang without any regrets."
Tozuka plays Heisuke, a skilled sniper who always has his partner, the yellow bird Pisuke, by his side and quietly saves Sakamoto from trouble. "He's my favorite character in the original work, so I'm very honored to be able to play him this time. I think it's a work worth watching, as you can only get from a film adaptation. The visuals are just so cool," he said, before adding a meaningful comment, "And I've never seen Ren Meguro like that before."
The film is scheduled to be released during Golden Week in 2026.
