Kabuki actors Kazutaro Nakamura and Danko Ichikawa will appear on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), airing on June 16th at 1 PM. Both are young stars of the Kabuki world, and their grandmothers were members of the Takarazuka Revue.
Ichitaro is working as a movement coach for the film "National Treasure" (2025) under the name "Azuma Tokuyo" (his father, Ganjiro, is in charge of Kabuki supervision). Danko, whose father is Ichikawa Chusha (Teruyuki Kagawa), is currently appearing as Mori Ran in the NHK Taiga drama "BROTHERS IN ARMS (Toyotomi Brothers!)" and is attracting attention.
They will reveal precious anecdotes about Ichitaro's grandmother, Chizuru Ogi, and Danko's grandmother, Yuko Hamayu. They will also talk about their feelings towards Ichitaro's late grandfather, Tojuro Sakata, and Danko's late grandfather, En'o Ichikawa, whom they deeply respect.
The program also features precious childhood memories in photographs. Ichitaro shares stories about the unexpected way he started his part-time job during his student days, as well as anecdotes about Dango's big eating habits.
