The opening theme special trailer for the movie version of Miss Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid 'Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, based on the manga by Cool Kyoushinsha, has been released on YouTube. The video features the opening theme song "Namida no Parade" by the band fhana, and depicts scenes from the everyday life of the Kobayashi family.
"fhana" commented, "The long-awaited sequel to ' Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid' is actually a movie! fhana put a lot of emotion into creating the song. We think it's an endlessly fun and endlessly sad song. We hope that you will love 'Tears Parade' for a long time to come, along with the movie."
The movie version will be produced by Kyoto Animation, just like the TV anime, and will be directed by Tatsuya Ishihara, who directed the second season of the TV anime "Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S." This will be the first time the movie version of the work has been produced. It will be released on June 27th.
Miss Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid began serialization in Monthly Action (Futabasha) in 2013 and is currently being serialized in Manga Action (same publisher). The story follows Tohru, a dragon girl who lives with Kobayashi, a female office worker, as a maid, as she struggles to help Kobayashi and causes all sorts of trouble. The first season of the TV anime aired from January to April 2017, and the second season aired from July to September 2021.
