The five-member vocal and dance group M!LK appeared at a rehearsal for the 76th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen, held at the NHK Hall in Shibuya, Tokyo on December 29th. Wearing matching black T-shirts with "I (heart) M!LK" printed on them, they took to the stage and spoke about their feelings about appearing on Kouhaku for the first time.
On the stage of Kohaku, they performed the song "Ii Jan", which became a huge hit on social media. Taichi Shiozaki was full of energy and said, "There are only two days left until the performance, so I'll just be careful not to catch a cold and practice until the very end so that I can deliver the best "Ii Jan" on the dream stage."
Hayato Sano, who has been aiming to appear on Kohaku since the group's formation in 2015, savored his joy, saying, "I've always said that I wanted to appear on Kohaku, but it's not that easy, and I've realized that it's important to speak your mind and keep working hard."
Jyutaro Yamanaka, who delivers the line "that" before the chorus in "Ii Jan," said, "Thankfully, I have had many opportunities to perform it. Since this is the last one of the year, I'm thinking of bringing out the best "that" I've learned so far."
The theme of the 76th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen is "Connecting, Connecting, New Year's Eve," and it will be hosted by Hiroiki Ariyoshi, Haruka Ayase, Mio Imada, and announcer Naoko Suzuki. It will be broadcast from 7:20 pm to 11:45 pm on December 31st (with some news breaks).
