Singer and actor Masaharu Fukuyama appeared at the "Last Monday" stage greeting event held in Tokyo on December 29th to commemorate the film "The Last Man -FIRST LOVE-" (directed by Shunichi Hirano, currently in theaters). Fukuyama expressed his joy at being able to perform the film's theme NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen Gassen" to be broadcast on New Year's Eve, saying, "I'm really happy."
Fukuyama also expressed his gratitude to Inaba and the production team of Kohaku. "I never thought I'd have the opportunity to create a work with Inaba, and then perform it on TV," he said.
He also mentioned the scene in the movie where Minami is a student, played by Hamada Tatsuomi and Ami Touma, as a scene that made him cry. "It was Tatsuomi who played the childhood version of Minami in (NHK's Taiga drama) 'Ryomaden.' I think acting with those two was difficult. It must have been hard to convey the emotions. But that difficulty was expressed in their dedication, and I cried when I saw them both," he said.
In addition to Fukuyama, the event was attended by his co-star Yo Oizumi, King & Prince members Nagase Ren, Miyazawa Rie, Rui Tsukishima, and director Hirano, who directed the film.
"The Last Man: The Blind Investigator" is a TV drama series that aired on TBS in April 2023. Fukuyama plays Hiromi Minami, a blind FBI special agent who is a people-pleaser, and Oizumi Yo plays Shintaro Godo, a detective who will stop at nothing to arrest the culprit, as they team up to tackle difficult cases.
The film follows Minami and Shintaro as they travel to Hokkaido to investigate a certain case, where they meet Nagisa Ivanova (played by Miyazawa), Minami's first love, who is a world-renowned engineer genius who is being pursued by a mysterious organization.
