The details of the five exhibition areas of the "Kohei Horikoshi' My Hero Academia' Original Art Exhibition," an exhibition of original art from Kohei Horikoshi's popular manga "My Hero Academia," serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), have been announced, and it has been revealed that a life-size "Black Deku" figure will be exhibited in the "Zone 2: The End of a 'Hero-Saturated Society.'" The figure will be produced based on a sketch drawn by Horikoshi specifically for the exhibition, and life-size 3D modeling data of "Black Deku" has been made public. It was also announced that the figure will be commercialized in 1/7 scale and will be available for pre-order at the Tokyo and Osaka venues.
The original art exhibition will display a variety of valuable materials that were created during the production process of handwritten and digital manuscripts, along with Horikoshi's commentary, allowing visitors to experience the 10-year history of "My Hero Academia."
The areas are divided into five: "Zone 1: From Dream to Reality," which introduces the events from when Izuku Midoriya(Deku) enrolled at U.A. until the "All-Out War," "Zone 2: The End of a Hero-Saturated Society," which displays original drawings up until just before the "Second Battle" and a life-size "Black Deku" figure, "Zone 3: The Final Battle of Heroes and Villains," which dynamically depicts the panoramic view of the war damage from the "Second Battle," "Zone 4: Connecting and Weaving Feelings," where you can enjoy the conclusion of the deadly battle with Tomura Shigaraki and All For One in a powerful spatial exhibition, and "Zone 5: A Record of the 'Everyday Life' that Boys and Girls Reclaimed," which will feature a special exhibition of the original line drawings for "No. 431," an episode included in the final volume of the manga.
Information on the second round of merchandise was also released. An official catalogue will also be released, featuring an eight-page interview with Horikoshi.
The original art exhibition will be held at CREATIVE MUSEUM TOKYO (Chuo-ku, Tokyo) from June 21 to August 31. It is also scheduled to travel to the Osaka venue in the fall of 2025.
"My Hero Academia" is a manga that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from July 2014 to August 2024. Set in a world where about 80% of the population has supernatural powers and quirks, the story follows Izuku Midoriya, also known as Deku, as he strives to become the greatest hero. The comics have sold over 100 million copies worldwide.
The anime series is also gaining popularity, with the final season, the eighth season, “FINAL SEASON,” scheduled to air in the fall of 2025. The official spin-off TV anime series, “Vigilante: My Hero Academia ILLEGALS,” has been airing since April on TOKYO MX, Yomiuri TV, and others.
