Miyaneya:Announcer Miho Sawaguchi to graduate, 5th MC to be Momo Nishio, 3rd year with the company

It has been revealed that announcer Miho Sawaguchi (29), who has served as MC for four years and eight months since August 2020 on the information program "Information Live Miyaneya" produced by Yomiuri TV (Monday to Friday 1:55 p.m.), will graduate with the broadcast on March 28, and announcer Momo Nishio (24), who has been with the company for three years, will become the fifth MC from March 31.

Nishio is from Takarazuka, Hyogo Prefecture, and graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Osaka University. His hobbies and special skills are singing, karaoke, games, and watching anime. He appears on Friday broadcasts of "Asa-Live Wide Su-Matan!" and Monday broadcasts of "Kansai Information Network ten."

Regarding his appointment, he commented, "I will take up the baton passed down to me by my seniors and do my best to grow step by step. I would appreciate your continued support."

Seiji Miyane commented on Sawaguchi, "I tend to do meetings in a very general way, so I miss out on the small details and comments, but Sawaguchi really followed up on the small details and covered everything I missed, so I'm really grateful. Thank you so much." Regarding Nishio, he said, "In my third year at Asahi Broadcasting, I was just starting to understand that being an announcer was like this, so I hope Nishio will enjoy his job without feeling intimidated."

I have decided to leave the program. I have been in charge of the program for 4 years and 8 months, desperately chasing and reporting on the ever-changing news, and before I know it, the day is over.

I am filled with gratitude to all the viewers who always watch the show. "Miyane-san, what's going to be the next thing you say?!" Working in an unpredictable, thrilling and fast-paced environment was extremely stimulating. I was able to gain many realizations from the comments of the commentators and deepen my learning. The encouraging staff helped me every day, even though I was still inexperienced. Everyone involved was passionate, and I am proud to have been a part of such a program.

My successor, Announcer Nishio, is very friendly, has interests in many areas, and is a hard worker who takes on a positive approach. I'm proud of my junior! I hope you will continue to watch over Announcer Nishio as he grows day by day. Thank you very much.

Miyaneya is a program that I have fond memories of watching with my family. I am happy to be involved in such a long-established and admired program, but at the same time I also feel a great deal of pressure. I am also nervous but honored to be working with Miyane-san, who I have watched as a viewer for many years. As a member of Miyaneya, I would like to keep up with the fast-paced program and Miyane-san, while conveying daily news to viewers honestly and in an easy-to-understand manner. Nishio-san is in his third year at the company, but in my third year at Asahi Broadcasting, I was just starting to understand what it meant to be an announcer, so I hope Nishio-san will enjoy his job without shrinking back. I hope he will be bold and generous, and go wild as he likes.

Miyaneya is now in its 20th year, and I never thought I'd be doing it for 20 years. I was also in charge of "Ohayou Asahi Desu" for 20 years when it was still on Asahi Broadcasting, so I wonder if I can match that. I'm really grateful that we've entered our 20th year amidst all the changes, so I hope that it will continue to be an aggressive program that is fun, reliable in times of need, and that will exceed everyone's expectations in a good way.
