The world's largest anime event, AnimeJapan 2025, was held on March 22 and 23 at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto-ku, Tokyo), attracting approximately 152,400 visitors over the two days. It was a massive success, up 115% from the previous year. Approximately one in ten visitors was from overseas, and many anime fans from all over the world gathered at the event.
"AnimeJapan" is an event that has been held since 2014, and this year marked its 12th time. Following on from the previous year, it was held on the largest scale ever at Tokyo Big Sight's East Exhibition Hall 1-8 and Conference Tower, with a record 117 companies exhibiting, including Aniplex, KADOKAWA, and TOHO animation. The idol group "Sakurazaka46" serving as ambassadors also attracted attention.
This year, the AJ Stage, which hosts stage events for popular works, was expanded to four stages: RED STAGE, GREEN STAGE, BLUE STAGE, and the WHITE STAGE, with a total of 52 events held. Stages for "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: The Apothecary Diaries," "The Jujutsu Kaisen," "Jujutsu Kaisen," "Oshi no Ko," "One Piece," and "Gundam" were in the lineup, with voice actors and staff appearing on stage. The public days were March 22nd and 23rd, the business days were March 24th and 25th, and the "Family Anime Festa 2025" for families and kids was also held on March 22nd and 23rd.
It was also announced that "AnimeJapan 2026" will be held at Tokyo Big Sight in March 2026. The public days will be the 28th and 29th, and the business days will be the 30th and 31st.
