It has been announced that voice actors Genki Taiga, Yukiyo Fujii, and Akane Fujita will appear in the TV anime "Dekin no Mogura," based on the latest work by Natsumi Eguchi, who is known for the popular manga "Hoozuki no Reitetsu," which was also made into a TV anime. Taiga will play Maki Kuriaki, a third-year student in the Literature Department of Yame University, Fujii will play Kirihara Yaeko, also a third-year student in the Literature Department, and Fujita will play Inukai Shio, a first-year student at Yame High School.
Taiga commented, "Rather than being enthusiastic, I'm always nervous while performing. No matter what lines I'm saying, I feel like I'm always thinking, 'What will the other person think if I say this?' or 'Is this the right way to end it?' I feel like I'm always thinking while mouthing it. Since the lines are in the script, there's no point in me thinking about them, but I'd be happy if my worries helped to bring out at least a little of Maki's personality."
Fujii said, "Yaeko is not only cute in appearance, but also has the intelligence to see things objectively and see their true essence, and a sense of balance that allows her to maintain an exquisite distance from others. I will do my best to portray her inner strength, kindness, humor, and the pleasantness of her straightforward personality, and to convey her multifaceted, human charm to the viewers."
Fujita said, "Shio is basically the character who plays the role of the person who brings the atmosphere to life, so I didn't get intimidated by the flow or atmosphere, and just tried to be honest, bright, energetic, strong and powerful!!! With that in mind, I did my best to make sure that people could enjoy Shio's charms, such as the physical strength typical of the Inukai family, the cuteness of a girl her age, and her slightly silliness!"
At the Avex Pictures booth at AnimeJapan 2025, which will be held at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto-ku, Tokyo) on March 22nd and 23rd, a preview booklet of the manga "Dekin no Mogura" will be distributed.
It was also announced that the first season of the TV anime "Hoozuki no Reitetsu" will be rebroadcast on BS Nippon Television, Chiba Television and other stations from April 2nd. It will be broadcast every Wednesday at 11:30 pm.
"Dekin no Mogura" has been serialized in "Morning" (Kodansha) since April 2021. It is a bizarre comedy about the mysterious self-proclaimed sage Mole, also known as Hyakuan Momoyumi, who says he can't die because he's "banned" from the afterlife, and those who meet him.
The anime will be directed by Hiroshi Ishiodori and produced by Brain's Base. Yuichi Nakamura will play Mogura, also known as Momoyumi. It will start airing in July.
