"The Kabocha Wine First Look" (Rittosha), a book of carefully selected episodes by Mitsuru Miura from the manga "The Kabocha Wine" that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha) from 1981 to 1984, will be released on April 11th. The book will include many episodes that were not included in the comics, including two-tone color pages, and will be written in a style that reproduces the original manuscript, directly conveying the brushstrokes at the time of writing. The legendary romantic comedy manga will be revived in the Reiwa era.
The book also includes "Q&A about The Kabocha Wine," which focuses on anecdotes from the production of each episode, "The Kabocha Wine Gallery," which collects related illustrations, and "The Kabocha Wine Archives," which contains setting materials. The price is 4,400 yen.
The shopping site "T-OD" will also be selling a "PREMIUM EDITION" set that includes a book signed by Miura, a matching long T-shirt, a tote bag, and an A5-sized acrylic plate for 18,700 yen.
"The Pumpkin Wine" is a romantic comedy set at Sunshine Academy, depicting the love story of the "steam locomotive duo" - the small, self-proclaimed tough guy Aoba Harusuke and the tall, beautiful girl Asaoka Natsumi (Elle). Cute, glamorous, kind, and devoted to Harusuke, Elle captured the hearts of boys and became a popular character. It was made into a TV anime in 1982.
