Nippon Television held a briefing on April schedule changes at its Shiodome, Tokyo location on March 4th. The company plans to strengthen its prime time slots on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
To "strengthen the prime time slot," "Chidori Kamaitachi Golden Hour" will be broadcast every Wednesday from 8:00 pm. The aim is to boost individual viewer ratings by raising the core demographic.
The "drama slot" will be revived every Wednesday at 10pm. Taking advantage of the previous program "Ueda and the Night the Woman Howls," the slot will feature titles that are popular with women. In April, the new Wednesday drama "Love is Darkness," co-starring Jun Shison and Yukino Kishii, will be broadcast.
Every Saturday from 7:56 pm, "100 Million People's Big Question!? Laugh and Come!" will move to the new time slot. In addition to "Darts Journey" and "Hashigo Journey," "Wind Band Journey" will also be revived. From 10 pm, "with MUSIC" will be broadcast, featuring Yumiko Udo and Kohei Matsushita.
The new show by the popular group SixTONES, "Golden SixTONES," will be broadcast as the follow-up to "Queue for Advice," which airs every Sunday from 9 p.m.
The first change in about 30 years for "Saturday morning and afternoon" is also a key point, with the Sunday morning information variety show "Shuichi," hosted by Hideyuki Nakayama, moving to Saturdays. Part 1 (5:55-6:25 a.m.) and Part 3 (8:25-9:25 a.m.) will be broadcast locally in the Kanto region, while Part 2 (6:25-8:25 a.m.) will be broadcast nationwide.
Every Saturday from 11:55 p.m., the news program "Saturday LIVE News Zigzag," hosted by Ozawa Yukiyoshi, will be broadcast.
The restructuring rate was 11.3% for all day (6:00 a.m. to midnight), 19.0% for golden time (7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.), and 23.2% for prime time (7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.).
