The cast of new characters appearing in the second season of the anime " Kaiju No. 8, " based on the popular manga by Naoya Matsumoto that was serialized on Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump+," has been announced, with Yuko Kaida, Shunsuke Sakino, and M.A.O. joining the cast. Kaida will play Igarashi Jura, commander of the 2nd unit, Sakino will play Ogata Jugo, commander of the 4th unit, and M.A.O will play Kirimori Touko, vice commander of the 4th unit.
The anime's official website has launched a project called "1st Unit vs. 3rd Unit: The Brawler Vote." In episode 18, which aired on August 23rd, 3rd Unit vice-captain Soshiro Hoshina visits 1st Unit's Ariake Rinkai base with information about Kaiju No. 9. Standing in his way to counter him is 1st Unit captain Gen Narumi, and as the two are at odds with each other, a special website has been launched. Voting for your favorite unit will be open until September 30th on the website.
"Kaiju No. 8" began serialization in "Shonen Jump+" in July 2020, with its final episode airing on July 18th. Set in Japan, a monster superpower where monsters mercilessly invade everyday life, the story follows the exploits of protagonist Kafka Hibino, whose body is transformed into a monster by a mysterious creature. It also garnered attention when it was selected as the Grand Prize winner in the Web Manga category of the "Next Manga Awards 2021." The first season of the TV anime aired from April to June 2024. The second season is currently airing every Saturday at 11:00 PM on TV Tokyo.
