Actors Suzu Hirose Suzu, Hana Sugisaki Hana, and Kiyohara Kaya attended a completion report event for the film "Unrequited Love World" (directed by Doi Yudai, scheduled for release on April 4th), in which they all star, held in Tokyo on March 3rd.
Hirose said, "After it was decided that we would appear in this film, the three of us went out to eat once. I realized that two years had passed since that day, and it felt like it had just flown by. It was a film that had been in my heart for those two years, so I can't wait for the world to see it." She also reflected on the time spent on set, saying, "It was a lot of fun, and watching the two adorable people on set made me feel really happy."
Sugisaki revealed how she felt when she received the offer, saying, "I was happy that I would be able to join such a wonderful cast." She continued, "I was a little nervous at first, but I'm really moved to be working with such wonderful people and to think that it will soon reach the audience."
Kiyohara said, "I feel a warm feeling in my heart that the film is finally being released. Every day I am reminded that getting a movie made is not something to be taken for granted, so I am very happy to be standing here today with my beloved cast, director, and staff."
Director Doi recalled, narrowing his eyes, "The feeling of happiness when all three of them are on the same screen is incredible. Just watching it makes me feel happy."
The film is an original work by screenwriter Yuji Sakamoto and director Doi, who We Made a Beautiful Bouquet" (released in 2021). Set in modern-day Tokyo, it depicts young women who are troubled and confused but who live their lives without losing their kindness.
Misaki (Hirose), Yuka (Sugisaki), and Sakura (Kiyohara) live together in an old house in a corner of modern-day Tokyo. They are neither family nor classmates, but they go to work, school, or part-time jobs, spending their days happily and carefree, caring for each other and chatting away about trivial things. This is the story of the "unrequited love" that the three have been bound by a strong bond for 12 years and cannot tell anyone about.
The event also featured a chorus performance of the song from the film, "Voice is Wind," by the Suginami Children's Choir.
