Meanwhile, the patient, an elementary school teacher named Sonoda Mai (Yanagi Miki), is brought to the hospital complaining of stomach pain. Madoka reports that it is not cholecystitis or appendicitis, but may be stress-related stomach ulcers. Enomoto asks, "What should you do next?"
In the next scene, a batter's box appears in the hospital, and Madoka, wearing a Yokohama DeNA Baystars uniform, appears holding a bat. As a ball with "illness" written on it is thrown, Madoka tells herself, "What I should do as a team member is to identify the patient's illness here and now? No, I can't hit a home run right now. But I can carry it on to the next step!"
And the ball that hit Madoka's bat rolled away. Nakahata, who was wearing a Yokohama DeNA Baystars uniform, picked up the ball. Nakahata called out with a smile, "Nice sacrifice bunt."
